This year’s theme, “Empowering Women, Healing Generations,” resonates deeply with our mission. Mental health is not just an individual journey; it is a collective one. When we heal a woman, we heal a family. When we empower a woman, we empower a community. And when we stand together in love and solidarity, we create a ripple effect that can transform generations.
To every woman reading this: Your mental health matters. Your pain is valid. Your story is important. You are not alone. Whether you are a mother, a daughter, a sister, or a friend, your well-being is sacred. It is not a sign of weakness to seek help; it is an act of courage. It is not a lack of faith to struggle; it is an invitation to experience God’s love in a deeper way.
At the Catholic Mental Health Ministry, we are committed to walking this journey with you. Through trauma-informed care, faith-based support, and compassionate listening, we strive to create spaces where women can heal, thrive, and reclaim their God-given dignity.
This International Women’s Day, I invite you to join us in this mission. Let us celebrate the women who inspire us, uplift those who are struggling, and commit to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health. Together, we can build a world where every woman feels seen, heard, and loved.
“There is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise.” Let us rise together—for ourselves, for each other, and for the generations to come.
With love and gratitude, Anthonia Bisola Otunla Lead, Catholic Mental Health Ministry, Nigeria
